Stay On Track Like A Pro
I get it, life is busy, unpredictable, and sometimes just downright challenging and heartbreaking. Whether it's an unexpected dinner party, a stressful work week, a long-term relationship break-up, or well-meaning friends pushing you towards "just one more slice" of cake, staying on track with your health and fat loss goals can feel like navigating a minefield.
And I've been there! I remember back in 2014, just one month before stepping on stage for the Ms. Universe Bikini Body USA competition, I went through a major break-up after a five-year relationship. I know you ladies want to know all the details, but I'll need to keep it short for the purpose of this newsletter. My boyfriend at the time didn't want me to compete abroad and represent South Africa after winning the Bikini Body SA comeptition. I was flying high with excitement, with many work opportunities ahead of me, but he said, if I go, the relationship was over. Talk about loving support, right?
But guess what? I had worked too damn hard on transforming myself, and this challenge proved my mental state had transformed into that of a powerful warrior woman. I knuckled down, tears rolling down my face every day and a heart filled with disbelief and sadness to face the days ahead. Yet, I used this emotion to dig even deeper and proved to myself that it takes only me to achieve my dreams.
Listen up ladies, you all have your very own warrior woman hidden inside of you. Don't be afraid to release her!
P.S. He came running back after I won my division in the USA, but by then, my standards were raised, my boundaries were unshakable, and I knew I deserved so much better from a loving and supportive relationship.
I'm here to arm you with the my 7 strategies you need to conquer any obstacle, even heartbreak.
1. Visualize Your Success - I can't stress this enough!
This is the most powerful strategy for me! First things first, get crystal clear on your vision. Why do you want to transform yourself? What does personal success look like for you? Write it down, create a vision board, or even record a voice memo to remind yourself of your powerful 'why.' I committed to practising visualisation every morning upon waking up and every night before going to bed. Visualization is such a powerful tool for me and it sure works its magic! Picture yourself smashing those goals every single day, but most importantly, as you picture yourself smashing these goals, you gotta FEEL the emotion rushing through your entire body, as if it has already happened.
2. Plan, Plan, Plan!
Failing to plan is planning to fail, ..... read that again!
Meal prepping is super important. Meal prep just like a Bikini FitBody pro, especially over the weekends, carry healthy snacks with you, follow your eating plan like your coach is watching over you 24/7 and always have a game plan for eating out. When you have a solid plan, it’s easier to make smart choices, even when temptation strikes.
My 4 Pro Tips on planning:
- Batch Cook: Prepare a few meals in advance and store them in the fridge or freezer.

- Snack Smart: Keep unsalted almonds, biltong/jerky, or protein shakes handy.
- Menu Scout: Check restaurant menus online before you go out to make healthier choices, ensure that it follows along the eating plan that you are following.
- Intermittent Fasting - Ensure you have a tight fasting and eating window prepped before hand, in order to break your fast with confidence and face the day ahead powerfully.
3. Master the Art of Saying "No"
I just love this one. It’s your journey after all, and sometimes, well majority of the time you’ll need to put your foot down. Politely but firmly decline offers that derail your progress, just like the queen you are, and don't tell me you're not a queen. Practice responses like, "No thanks, I’m on a health kick," or "I’m focusing on my goals right now and thank you for your support"
4. Find Your Tribe
Surround yourself with like-minded people who support and motivate you. Join fitness classes, online communities, get a coach to remain accountable to, or find a workout buddy and/or an accountability buddy. Your tribe will cheer you on during victories and lift you up when you’re feeling down and if they don't, you're with the wrong tribe.

5. Be Flexible, Not a Pain in the A$% to Yourself
Life happens, and sometimes you’ll miss a workout or indulge in a treat (PS: btw, treat meals are included within all my Bikini FitBody Programs too, yes these meals are all scheduled in 😋 Enjoyment without guilt). But if you missed that day of laser-like focus, it’s okay! What matters is getting back on track, and not delay. Balance and accountability are key ladies! Allow yourself occasional indulgences without guilt, and you’ll find it easier to maintain your healthy habits long-term, I promise you - It's such a fun journey.
6. Track Your Progress - You'll regret it if you don't.

7. Celebrate the Small Wins like nobody is watching
Every step forward is 100% a win and it's a MUST to Celebrate them! Reward yourself! These add up to significant changes over time. I celebrate daily💃, and sometimes just celebrating in my own headspace with free smiles all round - I call it my "solo-headspace party!" Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Every small win deserves your full recognition and you gotta start clapping for your own damn self first.

Remember, your health and fat loss journey is uniquely and solely yours to own. Stay committed, be kind to yourself, and navigate challenges with resilience and grace. Chin up ladies! - Power through! Stay strong, stay laser-focused, and stay committed to "her"!
