Say Good-Bye to UTIs

Today's message is a very important one, but then again everything I write about always is.  This one in particular should be highlighted though - I'm talking about, Urinary Tract Infections a.k.a UTI

Whether you've experienced one before or just need to keep these UTI fellas at bay, a UTI is by no means bearable, .... it's the worst thing eeever!!!
With a few easy and effective lifestyle tweaks here and there, you can kick them out, if they decide to show up.
Let me share some practical, and powerful ways to support your urinary health!

But as always, before diving in, let's first go over some extra information and understanding about what a UTI actually is.


What Is a UTI?
A UTI is an infection in your urinary system.  It includes the bladder, kidneys, and urethra. Infections happen when bacteria, like E. coli, sneak into your urinary tract and cause all these unbearable symptoms like:
- burning when urinating
- urgency to urinate like-all-the-time! It’s just a "no-show"
- bloating - uuuurgh!!
- constant pressure "down there"- it’s discomfort to the absolute max
- fever - in severe cases
- fatigue - a feeling of "everyone just leave me alone", or feeling of "feeling sorry for oneself", I kid you not.
- energy - what energy?
- and in severe cases bleeding - okay, go and see your doctor immediately! You’ve left it too long or you have a severe infection that requires immediate antibiotic intervention.

PREVENTION and TREATMENT 

1. Stay Hydrated 
Staying hydrated is your first line of defense against UTIs.
Drinking plenty of water helps flush these bacteria invaders out of your system. Aim for 2 litres a day. Add slices of lemon, fresh lemon juice and apple cider vinegar and the secret ingredient "baking soda".

2. The Magic of Cranberry Juice 
Cranberries contain compounds that prevent bacteria from sticking to the walls of the urinary tract.
Go for unsweetened pure cranberry juice or try cranberry supplements.

3. Healthy Lifestyle Diet
 A balanced diet full of low sugary fruits, hydrating veggies, and clean lean proteins supports your immune system and reduces UTI risk.
Foods rich in vitamin C (like oranges and bell peppers) or pure, clean Vitamin C powder, help keep bacteria at bay.

4. Take Care Down There! 
 Practice good hygiene by wiping from front to back to avoid spreading bacteria. Skip heavy-duty soaps that could disrupt the natural flora down there, ladies and yes I know, I also like my pretty scented soaps, but it's a no-go-zone, 
especially if you're prone to UTI.
Simple, gentle cleansing, is the way to go!

5. Boost with Probiotics 
Probiotics, especially those with "Lactobacillus" strains, promote a balanced microbiome and help prevent
harmful bacteria from taking over.
Try incorporating probiotic-rich foods like plain Greek yogurt, sauerkraut, and a quality probiotic supplement.

6. Regular Loo-Loo Breaks
Whatever you do, don’t hold it in!
Regular trips to the bathroom prevent bacteria from
building-up in the bladder.
IMPORTANT - LADIES PLEASE NOTE: 
Always urinate after intimacy,
as this helps flush out any bacteria that may sneak in.


7. D-Mannose Supplements 
This natural sugar, found in cranberries, works wonders for UTI prevention by binding to bacteria so they can't cling to the bladder walls.
D-Mannose powder or capsules are easy to find and gentle on your system.

Take Fast Action if You Feel Symptoms:
If you notice UTI symptoms like burning, urgency, or pain, start with hydration and cranberry supplements and consult a healthcare provider if symptoms persist.
Ignoring these symptoms won’t make it go away and early intervention helps keep infections from spreading and worsening.
